The Wedding Ceremony

Melville Castle has been approved for both Civil & Church of Scotland Ceremonies, and can therefore offer several options for ceremonies of different sizes:

The Ballroom - accommodating up to 80 guests

The Arniston Room - accommodating up to 35 guests

The South Lawn & Paddock areas - numbers dependent on size of marquee

 

The Drinks Reception

Drinks after the Wedding Ceremony are served in the Front Hall, Library Bar and Ante Room. These grand yet elegant rooms, with large windows, overlook the sunny South Lawn and the North Esk River. Drinks can be served outside weather permitting.

The Wedding party has private use of the Library Bar and Ante Room after the Wedding Ceremony and for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

 

 

The Wedding Breakfast

The Viscount Dining Room is the ideal Wedding Breakfast room for the larger parties, accommodating up to 70 guests. With its high ceilings, large windows, and ornate décor, it provides the perfect backdrop for a very important meal.

With the same level of exquisite décor, the Arniston Room is perfect for a more intimate Wedding Breakfast, accommodating up to 24 guests.

Melville Castle provides sumptuous fine cuisine, exemplified by its restaurant being awarded an AA Rosette. The Bride & Groom-to-be can select their preferred set menu from a comprehensive Menu Selector, catering for different tastes and different budgets. Our Head Chef, Douglas Calder, will be only too happy to discuss any requests or special requirements you may have.

The Evening Entertainment & Evening Buffet

The Evening Receptions are held in the south-facing suite, which includes the Ballroom, Ante Room, Library Bar and Arniston Room, accommodating up to 110 guests.

The Ballroom laid out with occasional tables, provides ample space for dancing the night away, whether it's to the infectious beats of Scottish Country music, or to the swinging tunes of a soul ensemble.
